Ram Navami witnesses the birth of Lord Rama who is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In the month of March-April, Ram Navami lies on the 9th day of the Hindu calendar. The son of King Dashrath, Lord Ram has always been known for his qualities and sacrifices. Ram Ji is often worshipped with his wife Sita, brother Lakshman, and his greatest devotee Hanuman. Why is Ram Navami Celebrated?

Lord Rama Also known as ‘Maryada Purshottam’ is the lord known for all the good deeds, respect, loyalty, and love he had to give to the world. He was born on Ram Navami in the year 5114 BC to King Dashratha and Queen Kaushalya in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, this place is also called Ram Lalla Janm Bhumi.

Ram Navami comes in the list of April Holiday list 2024 for schools. Moreover, in India, people see this day as both the birth of Ram Lalla and the marriage anniversary of Purshottam Ram and Mata Sita. the temples are bombarded with devotees from the morning till late night to celebrate this day.

Significance of Ram Navami

Ram Navami is the day we celebrate the victory of Dharma (Moral) over Adharma (Immoral). To begin the day right, people offer water to Surya Devta (The Sun), who is also known to be the ancestor of Lord Rama. He can be known through one of the two known Hindu scriptures, Ramayana, the other is Mahabharat

Along with India, it can be witnessed in South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, Jamaica, other Caribbean countries, Mauritius, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, and other places where people follow Hindu festivals.
