The Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, is a prominent cricket stadium located in Delhi, India. The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 41,820 spectators, making it one of the largest cricket stadiums in India.

The stadium was established in 1883 and has a rich cricketing history. It was established with a cost of approximately 115 crores. On 11th October 2023, the stadium is scheduled to conduct an India vs Afghanistan match in the ICC ODI Men’s World Cup 2023. 

History and Importance

In September 2019, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) decided to rename the stadium the Arun Jaitley Stadium in honour of the late Arun Jaitley, a former Finance Minister of India and cricket administrator.

The stadium was established in 1883 during the British colonial period. It was initially named after the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort, which is a historic monument in Delhi. The Arun Jaitley Stadium serves as the home ground for the Delhi Capitals, one of the teams in the Indian Premier League.
