The physical appearance or beauty of a person has nothing to do with their intelligence, personality and character. ‘Hello and welcome to everyone present here. I stand before you all to present my speech on ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder.’ Everyone has their unique abilities, from physical appearance to career achievements. The moment we see something beautiful, a gentle smile emerges on our face, feeling joy and a moment of happiness. For one person, physical beauty may be a depiction, but others might cherish it.’ ‘But to build strong relationships, it is the personality and behaviour of a person that matters more than their beauty. In addition to this, physical beauty might not last forever, but a person’s character and traits will. Right from childhood we are taught to never judge a book by its cover. The same formula is applied to people; outside beauty has nothing to do with inner beauty.’ ‘This phrase, ‘beauty lies in the eye of the beholder’ can have different meanings, depending on how one person is viewed by others. Everybody has their own point of view and way of seeing others. Therefore, we must embrace both the physical and inner beauty of others. Thank you.’

‘Good morning my friends and teachers. I welcome you all here today, where I’ll be presenting my speech on ‘Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.’ What comes to our mind when we hear the term ‘beauty?’ some might say a natural environment with greenery all around, while others might talk about objects, such as a person, a building, any activity, etc. ‘Well, beauty is something that we love to see. It’s a picturesque view which offers us peace and calmness. In the modern world, beauty is associated with an aesthetic environment or people with absolute splendour in almost everything.’ Everyone has their individual perspectives, which shape their unique definition of what pleases them aesthetically. For example, if I say, ‘Beauty to me emphasizes the subjective nature of appreciation and value of art, nature, or people.’ Not everybody will agree with this.  ‘If I talk about a person’s beauty, it can be either their physical appearance inner beauty or both. We all appreciate a person who is both beautiful and confident at the same time. But does that mean we will not like a person who is not so beautiful on the outside and is an introvert? Human qualities like charm, respect and value for other people are the most beautiful qualities.’ ‘Most of the time, a person’s beauty is recognised through our senses. We feel delighted when we talk to someone with good looks, but we only get to know more about their inner qualities after spending time. There is beauty in almost everything around us. Judging someone by just looking at them will not be morally correct, as we might miss an opportunity to know an interesting person.’   ‘We spend a lot of time and money to look good. But does that really matter? Some might agree with this, others might not. This division of thought shows how people perceive others through their own mentality. Can you appreciate a movie actor or a model with an average outlook? This mental belief that public figures are supposed to look good from the outside and inside is not what everyone will follow.’ ‘The idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder invites diversity and embraces uniqueness. With this, every person is embraced for their inner and outer beauty. It can also teach us to approach judgements about beauty and humility, where we can recognise our individual perspectives. Thank you.’
