Short Speech on Pros and Cons of Online Learning

‘My warm regards to my fellow students and teachers present here. Today, I’m here to present myself on the pros and cons of online learning speech. We all know how online learning has revolutionized the education system. It offers us accessibility, and flexibility to learn from anywhere and pursue our education with ease.

Our Government launched the PM E-Vidya online education mode for remote teaching. Since its inception, this online education mode has offered free education to more than 250 million students in India, regardless of geographical constraints or physical limitations.

However, such platforms also come with certain limitations, which must not be neglected. Online education still has a very low score for practical experience. Suppose you are a science student, how can you perform experiments, which require proper laboratories and types of equipment?

This internet-based learning system is beneficial for everyone but needs to be used under proper conditions. We must not heavily rely on it, for it too has limitations. Therefore, understanding these limitations is essential for students, educators and policymakers to develop strategies to overcome them. This way, we can create a more inclusive and effective online learning system. Thank you.

Long Speech on Pros and Cons of Online Learning

‘A very warm welcome to everyone present here today. It’s my pleasure to be here with all of you. Le’s venture on the journey of the pros and cons of online learning and uncover the hidden nuances behind it.

From the transformation of the sophisticated traditional way of learning to a more accessible and flexible education system, online learning has come a long way in a short span of time. It was in the late 20th century that the concept of online learning was introduced in education systems, where test-takers were given a desktop to answer questions written on screens.

Let’s start with the pros of online education.

Pros of Online Education
One of the biggest advantages of online education is that you can access it from anywhere across the globe. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a smartphone or laptop. This unparalleled accessibility has empowered students to pursue their education with ease.

The flexibility offered by online education is like freedom to students where you can customize their learning experience and balance their academic pursuits with their personal and professional lives.
It offers us a self-paced approach for a conducive learning environment and can accommodate different learning styles according to the learner’s unique needs and requirements.

When it comes to the cost of learning, online education has cheaper courses compared to on-campus programs. It also allows us to save on expenses associated with commuting, accommodation, and campus facilities, making education more affordable and accessible.

Cons of Online Education
Now comes the interesting part, which highlights the limitations and drawbacks of online learning. Before you start online education, you need to ask a couple of questions from yourself.

Are you self-disciplined enough to study online? How do you plan to solve your doubts if there are no face-to-face interactions? Do you have a stable internet connection?

Online education requires a high level of self-discipline and self-motivation. As a student, you must proactively manage your learning progress without the structured guidance and supervision provided in traditional classroom settings.

This system limits the opportunities for in-person interaction between students and teachers. This can cause a sense of isolation and not always get satisfactory and immediate solutions, feedback and clarification.

You must have a consistent and reliable internet connection. If it is not readily available or affordable, then you are at a disadvantage. It can limit your participation and hinder your learning experience.

At last, I would like to conclude by saying that we must foster a comprehensive understanding of both the pros and cons of online learning. We and the policymakers must collectively work towards creating a more inclusive, equitable, and effective educational ecosystem for everyone. Thank you.
