Step By Step Procedure of JoSAA counselling
The JoSAA counselling consists of major 5 steps. These are the steps that a candidate has to go through for JoSAAcounsellingg:

Registration
The first step is to register for JoSAA counselling. You need to first log on to the official website and register through your JEE application number.
After logging in through your credentials, enter all your personal and educational information. You need to keep in mind that you can change your contact information after registration.
Choice Filling and Locking of Colleges
The next step is to fill in the choices of the colleges and universities according to your preference. It is very important to complete this step.
Note: Make sure to review all the universities and colleges beforehand. Know their placement records, the courses provided and the course fees.
You need to also lock in your choices. Make sure to review your choices carefully and arrange them.
Seat Allocation
The next step is seat allocation. The candidates will be allocated based on their ranks achieved, and candidate’s preference and the seats available at the institute.
Seat allocation now consists of “Freeze”, and ‘Float” or “Slide” options. When a candidate is satisfied with the institution allotted, they can choose Freeze; otherwise, they can choose “Slide” and “Float”.
Document Verification
After selecting the institution, the next step is document verification. There are certain documents that you need to submit. In this counselling process, document verification is conducted online.
After the verification of documents, students can now proceed towards the acceptance process.
Acceptance and Reporting at College
The final stage of the JoSAA counselling process is the acceptance and reporting to college. There are options like “Float” and “Freeze”. Freeze your desired university and report to the college with the desired documentation.
