Joint Entrance Examination, more commonly known as the JEE Main is an eligibility test conducted to select deserving students for admission into various participating colleges across India like Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) through Central Seat Allocation Board.

Further, admission to any college through JEE Main is subject to the condition that the candidates must have secured a minimum score of 75% marks in the 12th standard examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th standard examination conducted by the respective Boards. However, for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST the minimum qualifying mark is 65% in the 12th standard examination.

This entrance was earlier conducted by the Central Board of Central Education (CBSE). 2019 onwards, the exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

As a JEE Main aspirant, it is crucial that candidates acquaint themselves with the sample papers of the JEE Main exam pattern to avoid last-minute panic. This can be achieved by repeated practice and honest preparation. This practice would also allow the candidates to time themselves and ensure that they are able to finish the exam in the designated time. Here are some benefits of practising sample papers prior to giving the exam:

  1. The sample papers will help you in developing speed, accuracy as well as time management skills
  2. The practice session with the help of sample papers will give you an on-hand experience of what you should expect and encounter on the day of the JEE Main exam.
  3. Practising the sample papers on a regular basis will help you realise your strengths and weaknesses. Give ample amount of time to your strengths, as you will be confident and sure and this way, you will score more in that section. However, do not get demotivated by your weakness. Go back to your weaknesses and rework them repeatedly so that you can improve and perform well in those areas as well.
