The SSC CPO stands for Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation. The SSC CPO is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for various posts in the Delhi Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

SSC CPO Latest Updates

The result of Paper I have already been declared with the cut-off list on the official website. Shortlisted candidates are now required to appear for the PET and PST. However, the dates for PET and PST are yet to be notified and shall be communicated to the shortlisted candidates in due course.

SSC CPO Syllabus

The SSC CPO exam contains two written exams; Paper I and Paper II. The syllabus for both papers is different. Candidates preparing for the SSC CPO exam must attempt to cover all aspects of the syllabus in order to clear the examination. The detailed syllabus is discussed below:

Paper II

The SSC CPO paper II will be an English Comprehension Test. Paper II is considered one of the toughest stages of the SSC CPO examination process. Candidates who will clear the paper I and PET & PST will be called for this stage of the examination process. Paper II is entirely based on English language and comprehension and includes questions like filling in the blanks, detecting misspelt words, synonyms, antonyms, etc.  

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 

While preparing for any exam, candidates will really benefit by having all the detailed information about the exam pattern of that exam. The exam pattern includes information about the subjects, number of questions, marks, marking scheme, and total marks in the exam. Eligibility Criteria 

In order to appear for the exam, candidates must first fulfil the eligibility criteria first. The eligible criteria include different factors such as age, qualifications, nationality, etc. The criterion is discussed in detail below:

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates applying for the exam should possess a graduation degree in any field from a university recognized by the government.
  • Candidates appearing in their final year of graduation will also be considered eligible.

 Age Limit

  • Candidate should be within the age limit of 20-25 years. However, there is an age relaxation of 3-5 years for candidates belonging to reserved categories or ex-servicemen. 

Nationality/ Citizenship

Candidates appearing for the exam should also fulfil nationality-related criteria. Candidates applying for the exam should be

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A citizen of Bhutan, or
  • A citizen of Nepal.

Candidates with citizenship of India and Nepal should have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Physical Eligibility

Candidates applying for the SSC CPO 2022-2023 should not only possess educational qualifications but also fulfil the physical fitness criteria. A number of physical activities or events are organised by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to test the candidates if they are physically fit or not.

Application Process

Candidates interested in the exam can apply on the official website by the deadline. Post the notified deadlines, no application forms shall be accepted. The detailed application procedure is as follows:

  • Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) mentioned above.
  • Provide the information and documents requested by the portal. 
  • Once finished, click on submit which will prompt a verification OTP to be sent to your registered mobile number and email address. This will also create a registration ID and password for you to log in. 
  • After that, under the SSC CPO 2023-2023 section, click on ‘Apply Now’.
  • Fill out all the details required in the application form for the SSC CPO exam.
  • Upload your education certificates, passport-size photo, and signature.
  • Pay the application fee, which is INR 100. Candidates belonging to ST/ SC/ Ex. servicemen categories will be exempted from paying this application fee of INR 100.
  • The application fee can be paid both online and offline. For online payment, candidates can pay the application fee through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.
  • Candidates paying the application fee offline will have to generate a challan which is to be paid at any State Bank of India (SBI) branch.

Admit Card

Candidates who have successfully applied for the exam will be able to download their admit card from the official website mentioned above. The SSC CPO admit card contains information like the date and venue of the exam, candidates’ information, and some other information about the exam of which the candidate should be aware.

To download the SSC CPO 2022-2023 admit card, follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of SSC 
  • Check the notification section and click on ‘SSC CPO 2022-2023 Admit Card’.
  • A new tab will open where you will have to enter your SSC registration number and Date of Birth (DOB).
  • Check all the details mentioned on the admit card to make sure that everything is correct.
  • Download it and take a printout of it.

Candidates should ensure that they carry their admit card while appearing for the SSC CPO written exam.

Selection Process

The selection process for the SSC CPO is a step-by-step process involving 4 different stages. Candidates will have to clear all the stages to be selected for the notified vacancies. These stages are as follows:

  • Paper I (Objective type written exam)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physician Strenght Test (PST)
  • Medical Test
  • Paper II (English Comprehension Test)

Candidates who will clear all four stages will be recruited for  Delhi Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

SSC CPO Preparation Tips

SSC CPO Answer Key

The answer key for the SSC CPO 2022-2023 exam is released by the Staff Selection Commission after the exam is over within 15-20 days of the examination.

Candidates who appeared in the SSC CPO Paper I can download their answer key by visiting the official website of SSC and entering their registration number and date of birth. 

The answer key contains the solved question paper and the options marked by the candidate in their response sheet.

SSC CPO Paper I Result

The SSC conducted Paper I from 9th to 11th November 2022. On 27th December 2022, SSC released the result for SSC CPO 2022-2023 Paper I.
