What is RWA Full Form?

The RWA full form is Resident Welfare Association. The organization is registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Under this, each state may have amendments included from time to time. It is applicable to all RWAs of a particular state. RWAs registered under Societies Registration Act cannot work on their own. Constitutional documents govern the functioning of RWAs. These documents include the special powers of RWAs. The power can be checked when needed. It is a legal body with rights for all legal purposes.

What are the Powers of RWA?

Given below are the powers of RWA:

• It decided the subscription amount for every resident
• All residents can ask for a membership, however, RWA can refuse it after communicating the reason for the same. 
• The RWAs have the right to terminate the membership of any resident due to their death or other circumstances including failure to pay the subscription charges, work against principles of the society etc. 
• It is the duty of RWA to operate and execute the initiatives and policies within the society

Who are the Members of RWA and How are they Selected?

Given below is the list of members in RWA:

• President 
• Vice President 
• General Secretary 
• Secretary 
• Treasure 
• Executive Members

These governing members of the RWAs serve for a specific period of time. Their tenure is specified in the meeting of the general body. Residents can either vote or raise their hands in favour to elect a certain member. They have special powers to regulate various functions of the society.
