What is the OTA full form?

The OTA full form is Officers Training Academy. It is a facility for the Indian Army’s training for the Short Service Commission or the SSC. The first OTA was founded in 1963, and was located in Alandur, Chennai. Another academy was established in 2011 in Gaya. However, it was later dissolved in December in 2019.  Students can get into OTA to serve for a short period of time by appearing for the CDS exam. How to Join CDS OTA?

To join CDS OTA students can first join the army, serve as a commissioned officer for 10 years. At the end of the term, they can either choose to elect for a permanent commission or opt out. Those who are selected for the Short Service Commission and go to the OTA in Chennai.

Those who mark their choice as OTA go through the CDS exam. The successful applicants are then enrolled as Gentleman/Women Cadets. They are given a 49-week term at the Officer’s Academy. The exam pattern for the OTA are as follows:
