Who is the Chief Information Commissioner of India?
The current chief information commissioner of the Central Information Commission is Heeralal Samariya.
- He is a retired Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and was sworn in by the President of India Droupadi Murmu.
- Moreover, he is the first person from the Dalit community to become the Chief Information Commissioner of India.
Furthermore, the two key information commissioners are Smt. Anandi Ramalingam and Shri Vinod Kumar Tiwari.

Who was the First Information Commissioner of India?
The first information commissioner of India was Wajahat Habibullah. He was born on 30 September 1945. Habibullah was also the chairperson of the Chief Commission for Minorities. He was an officer of the Indian Administrative Service of the J&K cadre from 1968 until his retirement in September 2005, having served in India and the US.
