Established in 1830, the University of Richmond was established as a manual labor college for men. The University of Richmond is mostly known for its bachelor’s programs. The University of Richmond has academic affiliations with Associated Colleges of the South (ACS), the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA), and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). The University of Richmond ranks #63 in US College Rankings 2022 by the Times Higher Education and #16 in most innovative schools by the US News 2022.

The University of Richmond is situated on the western side of Richmond. The main campus of the institute spreads more than 350 acres. The campus building is situated around open lawns in the middle of a landscape of pines, rolling hills, and Westhampton lake. The campus is recognized as the “most beautiful campus in the USA” by the Princeton Review. The University of Richmond has a small downtown campus with amenities like academic buildings, a health center, gymnasium, sports fields, library, and residential halls. The university offers more than 100+ majors and minors in the fields of Business, Liberal Arts and Humanities, Medical studies, Organizational Behavior Studies, Economics, Accounting, and Psychology.

The notable alumni are Saul Krugman, a Scientist, Leland D. Melvin, a NASA astronaut, Kelly, an Author, and Dave East, and Rapper.
