About the University

History, Affiliations and Rankings

Bond University was founded on 15 May 1989 when it welcomes its first 322 students to its state-of-the-art campus in Queensland's Gold Coast. As Australia's #1 University for Student Experience, it features a three-semester per year timetable. Admissions to this university are done through Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre based on the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). The university celebrated its 30-year mark when it opened in the year 2019. In this same year, the university severed ties with the UK’s Prince Andrew and his former organization Pitch@Palace Global. The university got its university status in April 1987 by an Act of the State of Queensland’s Parliament and it was recognized as an accredited Australian university by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). The Times Higher Education World University Rankings place Bond University in brackets #251-300 and QS World University ranked it at 481 positions in 2023.
