What is the LNAT (Law National Aptitude) Test?

The Law National Aptitude Test is an aptitude examination that is designed by a consortium of UK universities. The exam would assess your potential to study law. Therefore, your verbal reasoning skills are tested rather than specific legal knowledge.  Your ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyse information is assessed. Hence, it cannot be categorised as a test for legal knowledge or intellectual ability. 

The LNAT test results are used along with qualifications like A‑Levels (or global equivalents), personal statements, UCAS applications, and interviews to get an all-around view of the candidate. The exam is computer-based and is held in more than 500 centres around 165 countries, by showing a photo ID on test day.

Who is Eligible for the LNAT Exam?

What are the Law National Aptitude Test eligibility criteria? Anyone who has completed the 12th standard and wants to enrol in an undergraduate law programme in the UK can take this test. You can be an EU national. UK national, or even an international student. 

Those who clear the exam can enrol at the LNAT‑participating universities. You must take this exam between September and January cycle for the year of entry. You can only sit for the each once a year, and the results of the exam are not carried forward to the next year. Unless it is an extreme situation.

How is the LNAT Structured?

The LNAT exam is held for 2¼‑hours. What is the Law National Aptitude Test format?  The exam is split into two sections.

What is LNAT Score 2025

What is the LNAT Exam Registration Process?

The LNAT exam registration and booking for entry into universities in September-October starts on 1st August, the previous year. The exam starts on 1st September every year. Pearson VUE manages the LNAT testing system. Therefore, there is a two-step verification process:

  1. Create an online account on the Pearson VUE registration system.
  2. After you get a confirmation email, book and pay for your test using the link provided.
  3. Get the test details and attend the exam at your chosen centre. You need to carry an ID.

How to Check the LNAT Exam Results?

Do you want to know what the LNAT exam results are?  The LNAT exam results are released twice a year. You will receive the email for the same. Those who have given the exam before 26th January will receive the results in mid-August, and those who sit for the exam after 26th January will get their results by mid-August.

You can check the results at the provided email address for the LNAT exam. You will only get the results for the 1st paper. The essay test results are directly sent to the chosen universities. Are LNAT 2025 Results Out?

Yes. The LNAT 2025 test results are out for those who have taken the examination before 26th January 2 2025. These results were released in mid-February. Those who have/going to take the exam at a later date will receive their results by mid-August 2025.
