TMUA Registration: A Step-by-Step Process

The first thing you need to register for the TMUA exam is a UCAS ID. You don’t have to submit your application, but you need to register for UCAS to get an ID. Moreover, you must note down the email address that you used. The same will be used for the test registration. Universities require the same email address to track your application. Once this is done, follow the steps below to register:

Create a UAT-UK Account

UAT-UK manages the TMUA account. Pearson VUE administers the exam. You must register for the University Admissions Test- UK (UAT-UK) on the official Pearson VUE website. You will be asked for details, like your name, email address, etc. After TMUA registration, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. The email contains a temporary password which you can change after logging in to your account.

Add a Test Card

Log in to your account and choose a test card. The UAT-UK manages other exams as well. Therefore, you need to add a test card for the exam you want to take. Once you have selected the test, a card will appear on your home page. Thereafter, choose your course and the university you are interested in.

Choose Your Exam Date and Centre

When the test slot booking starts, you can choose your examination centre and the test date. The TMUA examination is conducted on various dates. You can choose the date and test centre that align with your timeline. Choosing the nearest test centre is advisable. The Pearson exam centres are located worldwide, including in India and Nepal.

Pay Test Fee

Unlike Oxford University’s MAT exam, the TMUA registration is not free of cost. Neither Cambridge nor other Universities provide the test free of cost for anyone. Bursaries are indeed available. However, they are only for UK applicants. You will find that the test fees are lower for the UK applications. International students will have to pay a slightly higher fee for taking the exam. After you pay the registration fee, the test booking is complete. A registration email will be sent to your email address.

Special Arrangements (Optional)

The TMUA allows people with special needs to request special arrangements. For example, accommodation arrangements. You need to register at the earliest for the same. It will take around 10 working days to process your application for special arrangements. The bursary and access arrangement applications open way before the registration starts.

Cambridge applicants can apply for it starting from Tuesday, 24th June 2025, and other university applicants can apply starting from Wednesday, 1st October 2025.  If you are requesting special arrangements, ensure that you can provide proof that you require the same. For example, certification from a medical practitioner.
