Study Abroad: St George’s University to Launch Merit-Based Scholarships for International Students 

St. Georges University School of Medicine is launching merit-based scholarships for international students. The scholarships are provided alongside the Global Scholars Bursary, and International Peace Bursary for the academic year 2024.  The university has expanded its award portfolio in recognition of academic excellence and to foster financially sustainable education.

According to David Antonisz, the executive director of international student recruitment, the university invites meritorious students to seize the opportunity to pursue medical education. The goal is to build an environment of excellence where aspiring students can build rewarding careers in the medical field. The students today are the doctors of tomorrow. Therefore, the university is investing in its academic excellence.

Academic Merit Scholarship Award 

The Academic Merit Scholarship Award is open to incoming international students for 2024. The selection process for the scholarship is solely based on merit. Moreover, the students who qualify for this award are eligible for multiple awards. The aim is to acknowledge and award the academic achievements of the student.  Moreover, the scholarship would foster diversity and ensure access to education for students from different backgrounds. 

St George’s University International Scholarships 

Apart from the Academic Merit Scholarship Award, the university is offering 2 other scholarships.- the Global Scholars Bursary, and the International Peace Bursary.

The Global Scholars Bursary is a partial tuition bursary award available to non-US citizens entering the university for a 4 year MD program. However, students must demonstrate academic merit and financial need to apply.

The International Peace Bursary is a partial tuition bursary award available to non-US citizens. However, students must demonstrate financial need and must be willing to find the rest of the education beyond the bursary award.
