The university announced the introduction of the scholarship at the QUB conference as Bill and Hillary Clinton paid a visit there for the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

Hillary and Bill Clinton launched a new scholarship for disadvantaged young people from Northern Ireland. This scholarship will help them complete their education in the USA

The scholarship has more than GBP 500K (INR 5 Crore) worth of funding, which will undoubtedly prove extremely beneficial for the students. 

This specific fund was introduced as one of the most important parts of the conference. It was held at the Queen’s University Belfast where everyone celebrated the 25th anniversary of Good Friday. 

The chancellor of the Queen, Ms Clinton, a former Democratic presidential candidate, as well as her husband, the former president of the United States of America, were present in the capital of the Northern Ireland

They attended the program for the launch of the Clinton Scholarship Fund. This will help the study in the USA dream for socially and economically disadvantaged local students of Queen. 

The vice-chancellor and president of Queen, Ian Greer, stated that they were honored to receive the scholarship. They also honored to name the scholarship after the two famous figures of USA history.

He stated that both Hillary and Bill Clinton played a major role in enhancing positive change within the Northern Ireland community. They also supported the international connections between Northern Ireland and the Queen. 

The Importance of the Clinton Scholarship

During the initial three days of the fundraising dinner, the conference was able to generate more than GBP 290,000 (INR 2.9 Crore) in funding. 

On the other hand, an individual described by the university as an important part of society. As well as a supporter of long-lasting commitment, donated a whooping sum of GBP 250,000 (INR 2.5 Crore). 

A reputed spokesperson from Queen stated that the donations will help the students. To pursue their higher education from reputed universities in the USA.
