Study Abroad Fast Track to Permanent Residency 1-Year Masters in Canada with Work Permit

IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) introduced a new set of reforms for foreign students in Canada for the year 2024. Firstly, a cap was introduced on the number of international students entering Canada annually, but master’s or doctorate-level programs are exempted. One-year master’s programs are faster and less expensive as compared to 2-year postgraduate diploma programs. As per the new IRCC reforms, students who have completed a master’s program are eligible for a 3-year PGWP effective from 15th February 2024 irrespective of the duration of the program. In addition to this, only spouses and common-law partners of students who are studying for a master’s, doctorate, or professional degree can apply for a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP).

Moreover, foreign students who are graduating from master’s programs can start one year earlier as compared to students who are enrolled in two-year master’s programs. Also, they have a better chance of getting permanent residency.
