Study Abroad Canada Work Permit Innovation Stream Pilot is Now Open

IRCC announced a new 2-year Innovation Stream Pilot via the Global Hypergrowth Project. This Innovation Stream Pilot will allow certain Canadian companies to bring in highly skilled foreign workers on work permits without an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment). In addition to this, family members of these foreign workers are eligible to open work permits allowing them to work for any employer in Canada. The Innovation Stream is scheduled to continue for two years and so will end on 22nd March, 2026 until and unless there are any changes.

Eligibility Criteria of Innovation Stream Pilot

Know the eligibility criteria for Innovation Stream Pilot:

  • Foreign nationals inside or outside Canada need a job offer from one of the eligible employers under the Global Hypergrowth Project to apply for a work permit under the Innovation Stream Pilot. Applicants are required to fill out the work permit application using the IRCC official account.
  • Immigration officers should be satisfied that the applicants have the skills for the job they are applying for. They are also responsible for checking whether applicants meet the experience and education requirements as specified in the National Occupation Classification for their respective occupations.
  • The job offer must fall under Tier 0,1,2 or 3 as stated in National Occupation Classification.
  • The wages offered must be equal to higher than the median hourly wages set for the region.
