In general, there was a higher prevalence of male students conducting research across various domains compared to their female counterparts. Linguistics stood out as a field that attracted more females, and Natural Sciences witnessed equal participation from both male and female research students. Notably, Mathematics displayed a notable discrepancy, with 200 male students engaging in research compared to just under 50 females in the same field.
