Conditions for a Poland Post Study Work Visa

The following are conditions for the Poland temporary residence permit or the Polad post-study work visa are as follows: 

  • The Poland temporary residence permit is given for a maximum period of 3 years. Moreover, re-application is permitted.
  • There must be a reason to be in Poland. For example, work permit from a Poland employer, an acceptance letter from a university, etc

Documentation for a Poland Post Study Work Visa

Poland’s temporary residence permit documentation requirements are as follows. These documents must be submitted for a successful application.

  • Two copies of the temporary residence application form 
  • 4 photographs, payment of stam due fee of  €11,  and a valid passport 
  • Proof of health insurance 
  • To obtain a work visa, submit the work permit issued by a Polish employer 
  • Any other additional documents (if applicable). For example, a copy of your valid Poles card, marriage certificate to a Polish citizen, documents to show that your parents are Polish citizens, etc

Application Process for a Poland Post Study Work Visa

Applicant must have received a Polish long-stay visa to apply for a Residence permit. A residence permit can be applied after arriving in Poland. 

  • To apply locate the Foreign Affairs Department.
  • It is important to arrange the required documents, translate, and legalize them. Submit both the original and the copies of the documents. The original copy will be returned after the completion of the application process
  • Next, submit all the required documents to the nearest nearest voivodeship office or the Foreign Affairs Department.
  • Next, pay the required fee. (the fee is around  €94)
  • Lastly, wait for the temporary residence permit application processing. Generally, the processing can take around one month

While issuing the first Poland residence permit, fees are not charged. The stamp duties charged for issuing the card are around PLN 340 or PLN 440 depending on the application. In case of a negative decision, the fees are returned to the applicant. For replacing a residence card it can cost around  PLN 200.

How long is Post Study visa in Poland?

The Poland Post Study work visa or the temporary residence permit is granted for 1-3 years. After 3 years, a person can apply for the visa renewal. However, they must meet the conditions. After completing 5 years of stay in Poland, a person can apply for a permanent resident permit.

A Poland residence card is a document that confirms the identity of the person during their stay in Poland. The cost of the residence card is around  €11. In case the residence card is damaged or stolen, a person can apply for a replacement card. If a person has a residence card and a passport, he/she can leave Poland without a visa. The Blue card will be given longer than the period of the employment contract. The maximum period a person can receive a blue card is 3 years. 
  • Permanent Residence in Poland– After living in Poland for 5 years continuously, a person can apply for a Poland Residence Permit. A Poland residence permit does not permit a person to work abroad. Those holding a permanent residence permit can travel to other Schengen countries for 90 days within 6 months.
