Do you want to register for the Law National Aptitude Test, or LNAT, in 2025? Although registration is free, booking your test slot is chargeable. Pearson VUE conducts the LNAT exam on behalf of the LNAT Consortium. The exam is open to any student wanting to enrol in a UK law school. Registration for the academic year 2026 (September/October cycle) will start in 2025. Most likely, in the month of August. You must be aware of the fees to know the exam amount you have to pay. LNAT Fees for UK Students 

The LNAT examination fees vary depending on your test centre location.  The fees are not determined by your nationality or your place of residence. If you are in the UK, you have to pay the standard rates set by Pearson VUE for everyone taking the exam from the UK.

LNAT Fees for Indian & Other International Students 

Pearson VUE has set the same fees for applicants taking the test anywhere outside the UK. This means if you are taking the test from India, the US,  Japan, or Africa, you are required to pay the same fees. The LNAT fees set for Indian students and other international students are as follows:

Can You Take the LNAT Examination in India?

Yes. You can take the LNAT examination from India. This is why separate LNAT fees in India are provided. The fees apply to applicants who want to take the paper from India. You can take the LNAT exam at any Pearson VUE test centre. The test centres are in various cities across India. For example, Noida, New Delhi, Mysore, Mumbai, Vishakapatnam, Surat, Bhubaneswar, Nagpur, Bhopal, and more. No matter where you are taking the exam, you will get the same paper as UK students.

When to Pay the LNAT Fees?

You need to pay the LNAT exam fee while booking your test slot. This is typically done after you have registered for the examination. You are required to pay the LNAT examination fee online to book your test slot. To get your test slot on your preferred date, pay the fees early.

How to Pay the LNAT Fees?

You can pay the LNAT fees completely online. The fee payment can be made using a major debit or credit card. For example,

Steps to Pay the LNAT Test Fees

The following are the steps you can take to pay the LNAT test fees. This is a general overview of the steps you need to follow:

  1. Register for the LNAT examination through the official website (Pearson VUE)
  2. Book your preferred test slot. You can choose the date and location as per your preference.
  3. At this stage, you will be required to pay the application fees.
  4. Your payment is processed. Thereafter, your test booking will be confirmed.

Payment through LNAT Voucher

Location matters when you are paying the exam fees. If you are from any of the following countries, you are required to pay the LNAT exam fees using the LNAT Voucher. Note: The LNAT voucher is also for those who have no access to an acceptable payment card.

Process: When you choose the voucher option, an email will be sent to you. The email itself is the LNAT voucher. No paper copy is provided. Choosing the voucher option does not mean that you do not have to pay the fees. The fees remain the same. Once you make the payment, an email voucher is sent to you. It would take a week to process the same.

LNAT Bursaries for Financially Struggling Applicants 

Those who cannot afford to pay LNAT fees can apply for bursaries. However, the catch is that it is only available to UK/EU applicants meeting certain criteria.  It will take a week to process the bursary application. You must come under any of the following categories to receive a bursary.

  1. You are receiving the 16-19 Bursary in the UK, or an Adult Learning Grant (currently GBP30 per week)
  2. You are staying with a family member currently receiving Income Support, Employment and Support Allowance, or income-based Jobseekers’ Allowance.
  3. You are staying with a family member currently receiving child tax credits
  4. You are already receiving Pupil Premium payments or free school meals.
  5. EU applicants (outside the UK) receiving similar benefits

LNAT Rescheduling Fees

You can choose to reschedule your LNAT exam. However, you can only do that up to noon (UK time) on the second working day before the exam date. The working days are from Monday to Friday (excluding English bank holidays). Rescheduling your examination after the provided date is not allowed. The LNAT exam rescheduling fee is as follows:

There are no fees charged if you do not appear for the exam. Should you wish to cancel your paper, you can do so. Cancellation fees are not applicable.

Am I Eligible for a Refund If I Cancel My LNAT Exam?

No. You are not eligible for a refund if you cancel your LNAT examination. Fees are not refunded under any circumstances. Therefore, if you want to appear for the examination again, rebook your test slot and pay the fees again. The cancellation is, however, free of charge.

3 Tips to Save on LNAT Exam Costs

Do you want to cut the costs of taking the LNAT examination? Here are a few tips that may be useful. Keep these tips in mind while booking your test slot.

  1. Apply for an LNAT bursary if you are taking the test from the UK or the EU and are financially struggling. Ensure that you obtain the bursary before you book the test slot.
  2. Choose the nearest test centre as it will be convenient for you. This will also reduce the chances of last-minute cancellations.
  3. If you wish to reschedule your examination, ensure that you are doing the same in the given time frame. That is, reschedule before noon on the second working day before the exam date. This means you can reschedule your paper and pay no fees.

Is LNAT UK difficult?

Yes. The LNAT UK is considered a difficult exam. After all, this exam will help you get admission to a top university like Oxford and Cambridge. The examination is considered difficult because it does not test your law knowledge. Instead, it tests your skills like critical thinking, verbal reasoning, and the ability to analyse arguments, and to conclude.

What is its fee structure?

The LNAT exam fees are  GBP 120  for those taking the test from outside the UK. Those giving the test from the UK only have to pay GBP 75.

Which colleges in India accept LNAT?

LNAT is a UK law college admission test. It doesn’t make sense to take the exam for admission in India. At present, there is only one university in India that accepts the LNAT test scores for admission, and that is the Jindal Global Law School.

Is 27 a good LNAT score?

27 is considered a decent score in the LNAT exam, as most students score between 21-22. Securing 27 will get you admission to King’s College London (KCL). However, top-notch universities like Oxford require a score of 30 or more.

Is 17 a bad LNAT score?

Pearson VUE has not set a base score in the LNAT examination. Every university has set its own cutoff for the exam. Based on this, 17 is considered a bad score or below average. You will not be able to get admission into any UK university based on this score.
