Q – What kinds of jobs do young people not want to do in your country?
Ans- Well, there aren’t really many occupations that young people in my nation don’t want to pursue because youth unemployment has nearly always been a major issue. The young adults in my country, however, don’t seem to think highly of professions like sales executive, customer support associate and other “service-oriented” jobs that call for long hours of work. In addition, they also dislike teaching jobs as they require a lot of patience and the job gets monotonous at times too.
Q – Who is best at advising young people about choosing a job: teachers or parents?
Ans- My honest opinion is that teachers are the ideal people to give advice to young individuals about choosing a career, mainly because they are typically the ones that work diligently at schools and universities to help young adults realize their full potential. Additionally, teachers are in a stronger position to recognise students’ skills and areas of competence through constant communication with them in the classroom, allowing them to help students choose jobs that are a good fit for them.
Q – Is money always the most important thing when choosing a job?
Ans- No, I don’t really believe that money is always the most crucial factor in selecting a job. This is mainly because, regardless of how much money we actually have, it doesn’t always buy happiness or work contentment. In addition, even with the best of intentions, I may not be capable of performing to my full ability if I am getting a significant amount of money but my work is not seen as essential. Money is necessary for us to perform our jobs, but I don’t think it’s the most crucial component.
Q – Do you agree that many people nowadays are under pressure to work longer hours and take fewer holidays?
Ans– Yes, there is a lot of pressure on individuals today to work additional hours and take fewer vacation days, mostly because the majority of them are striving to keep up with ever-increasing living costs. Additionally, some people feel pressured to put in extra time at work since their employers are exploiting them. Another group of individuals are then under obligation to put in greater hours at work in order to accommodate their increased need for comfort and luxury in their life.
Q – What is the impact on society of people having a poor work-life balance?
Ans- People who don’t maintain a healthy work-life balance have a variety of negative effects on society. There won’t be enough people taking responsibility to move the country ahead and realize its full potential in a society where individuals are either earning too much or lounging around doing nothing for too long. Individuals in a community would experience mental depression if they worked too much without having adequate time to unwind with their family and friends. This inefficiency and lower productivity at work would then follow. On the other hand, if individuals in a society “sit idle” for too long, crimes as well as other anti-social behaviour will have a negative impact on the entire community.
