AICTE Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme 2022-23 (Gate / GPAT / CEED)

What is the AICTE Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme?

GATE/GPAT aspirants can apply for the AICTE PG Scholarship scheme 2023 at the official website to get admitted in the body’s postgraduate programmes in AICTE-accredited institutions. Since its inception, the programme has endeavoured to provide financial backing to meritorious candidates and enhance the quality of technical education in India. Students admitted to AICTE-accredited institutions are rewarded with Post Graduate Scholarships for programmes, such as  M.E/M.Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch. through DBT for 1st-year students. 

Candidates must bear in mind that it is imperative for them to have acquired the qualifying marks with valid GATE/GPAT scorecards. Final-year candidates or those who have a dual degree in integrated programmes are also eligible for the scholarship scheme. The catch here is that such candidates must be holding a Final score of 8 CGPA or above.  Eligible candidates can expect to receive a scholarship of INR 12,400 monthly under the said programme.

Amount of AICTE PG Scholarship

(i) Candidates must be holding a valid GATE/ GPAT score at the time of admission.

(ii) Candidates must be full-time scholars.

(iii) Applicants must be admitted in AICTE-approved Institutions / University Departments.

(iv) Applicants must be enrolled in AICTE-approved programs (Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Architecture and Master of Pharmacy programs). 

Other Entitlements Provided by AICTE PG Scholarship 2023

Candidates eligible for the AICTE PG scholarship scheme will be provided with certain other entitlements such as: 

• Casual leaves: 15 days (in an academic year)
• Medical leave: One month (30 days) (in an academic year)
• Maternity leave 

General Instructions for AICTE PG Scholarship 

Candidates applying for the AICTE Scholarship Programme must follow certain guidelines and keep certain points in mind. Candidates who have qualified for their GATE or GPAT exams will be considered eligible for the aforementioned scholarship scheme. Those enrolled in part-time courses are not eligible for GATE/GPAT scholarships.

Prospective candidates must ensure that their bank account name and candidate name are the same. Otherwise, the candidate will be barred from the scholarship programme. Furthermore, those with joint accounts will not be eligible for GATE/GPAT scholarships. 

Apart from that, 

• Students applying for the scholarship programme must be holding a general saving account in the bank. 
• GATE candidates enrolled in engineering and architecture programmes and GPAT candidates admitted to pharmacy programmes are the only ones eligible for GATE/GPAT scholarships.
• Candidates from the OBC category will not be eligible for GATE scholarships, regardless of whether they qualify under the mentioned category.
• Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped categories who do not possess any relevant or authentic certificate are deemed ineligible for GATE/GPAT scholarships.
