  • Applicants wanting to sponsor their parents must keep a separate deposit as a guarantee, and also provide proof that there is no way to take care of parents back home. Such expatriates must have a 2-bedroom accommodation and obtain annual medical insurance for both parents. 
  • To sponsor step-children, the conditions laid out by GDRFA must be met. Additionally, a written no-objection certificate from the biological parent must be provided for every child. 
  • A Muslim person is permitted to sponsor 2 wives if the terms and conditions of the GDRFA are met.
  • Single mothers wanting to sponsor children can do so by keeping a separate deposit for every child, Additionally, a written no-objection certificate from the biological parent must be submitted. 
  • A daughter can only be sponsored if he/she is unmarried 
  • On the other hand, an expatriate can sponsor his son only till the age of 18. In case a son is studying in UAE or abroad after 18 sponsorship is possible till te age of 21 years. However, proof of education must be provided.

UAE Family Visa Requirements: For a Wife

  • Preset a soft copy of the birth certificate of the child.
  • Provide a soft copy of the sponsor’s (father or mother) passport, including all bio pages.
  • Submit a soft copy of the sponsor’s visa.
  • Present the original Emirates ID of the sponsor. (father or mother). 
  • Include a soft copy of the Ejari (tenancy contract).
  • Provide a soft copy of the labour contract.
  • Include a recent picture of the child.
  • Submit a soft copy of the child’s passport (including all bio pages).
  • Provide a recent colour passport-size photograph of the wife as a soft copy.

Medical: UAE Family Visa Requirements

A medical examination is necessary, and it must be conducted at a medical centre approved by the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health & Prevention. For this process, you need to submit the following documentation:

  • A copy of the passport.
  • A valid entry permit.
  • Two passport-size photographs with a white background.

Emirates ID: UAE Family Visa Requirements 

An Emirates ID is a mandatory UAE family visa requirement. To obtain an Emirates ID card, applicants must visit the FAIC website and fill out the E-form. The following documents must be submitted for this purpose:

  • The original valid residency or entry permit. 
  • A passport.
  • Submit the original birth certificate or the father’s passport or Emirates ID.

  • The personal medical policy for dependents can be purchased. The limit of the insurance must be  150,000 AED along with 20% coinsurance. 
  • The insurance can be purchased from local providers. The services are called via health centres, hospitals, and clinics.
  • The insured must pay 20% coinsurance with an additional 500 AED per encounter, and an annual amount of 1000 AED. Any medical costs, beyond this limit will be covered by the insurer. This includes the coinsurance, medicine expenses and drug expenses of an annual limit of  1,500 AED.
