World Sight Day 2023: History

Since 2000, World Sight Day has been coordinated by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). The late Queen Elizabeth joined the awareness initiative in 2020. The ‘Love your Eyes’ campaign attracted over three million global donations the next year.

More than 150 IAPB member organisations, including major eye care NGOs, ophthalmological and optometric professional associations, hospitals, and businesses, have supported World Sight Day to this date.
