When is Veer Bal Diwas Celebrated?
Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated on 26 December every year to mark the martyrdom of the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji- Sahinzadas Baba Zorawar Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
History of Veer Bal Diwas
There is a dark history behind this day as the sons of Guru Gobind Singh bleed to death participating in the battle against Mughals. During that time, the Mughal Empire was under the control of Aurangzeb who was suppressing the religious freedom of the people and they were trying to convert non-Muslims.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji stood strong against it and established the Khalsa community. The Khalsa community was a group of warriors that fought to protect and uphold the Sikh principles.
The sons of the tenth Guru of Sikhism fought against the Mughal Emperor. It was on the morning of 7 December 1705, when the battle of Chamkaur was fought. The youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, along with Baba Fateh Singh Ji, and their grandmother were taken into custody by the Mughal officials at Morinds- Jani Khan and Mani Khan Ranghar.

The Traumatic Chronicle of Sirhind
Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh Ji sacrificed their life to protect the honour of their father. Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji were separated from the family and were dispatched to the Sirhind, Cold Tower (Thanda Burj) of the Fort.
On 9 December 1705, they were presented in front of Wazir Khan and were asked to change their religion to Islam, they were also threatened to death. But they both denied and maintained the pride of Sikhism. They both remained steadfast in their belief and motive and faced extreme torture by the Mughal Emperors.
Finally, death they were sentenced to death. On 11 December 1705, they were sealed alive in a wall just because they refused to convert. As the masonry reached chest-high it crumbles. Both of them were again sent to the cold tower and on 12 December 1705, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Baba Zorawar Singh Ji were sealed alive in the live and died.

What Happens on Veer Bal Diwas?
The four Sikh Shrines close to Srihind symbolize the courage and sacrifice of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas a religious fair is held from 25 December to 28 December every year. 26 December is dedicated to honour the martyrs of Chamk
