The joyous occasion of Mother’s Day is around the corner. In India, it is observed on the second Sunday of May. The day will be observed on 12 May 2024. Mother’s Day is a special day dedicated to honouring the countless efforts of our mothers. From going through the immense pain of labour to helping us get ready for the day, educate ourselves, and get all set to tackle the greatest difficulties of life. My mother starts her day early. She gets up at 5: 00 am and prepares breakfast for the entire family. She likes to cook eggs, toast with jam, and milk. She arranges clothes for everyone for the day. My mother also combs my hair, makes my bed, and helps me get ready for school. She then heads to the bathroom, brushes and flosses her teeth, takes a shower, and puts on some makeup to get ready for the day. After getting ready, she eats breakfast and sips her morning coffee. Then she drops me off at school and goes straight to work. Her work shift ends at 5:00 pm after which she comes back home with my dad in a car. She enjoys her evening tea with my father and eats homemade snacks. She starts preparing for dinner around 6:00 pm. She cooks all meals from scratch at home and believes in serving the best and most nutritious food to her family. I, my mother, and father together help each other to set up the dinner table. We share how our day went and what new things I learned in school. After dinner, my father and I clear the dinner table while my mother washes dishes. She goes to her room to change into pyjamas, brush her teeth, and read a few pages of her favourite book before dozing off.
