Speech on Sustainable Technology

Speech on Sustainable Technology: Our day starts with switching on the electric button and ends with switching it off with our tired, sleepy eyes. But did you know it would be nearly impossible to survive without electricity and technology? We might be biologically connected to the natural environment, but today, technology is just as important as any other element for survival. Technology plays an important role in our lives, but it also has certain drawbacks that not only harm us but our environment and other animals also. A recent study showed that the radio waves released from mobile towers are dangerous for birds and other animals. To protect the animals and the environment from technological equipment, scientists have developed a concept called ‘sustainable technology.’ Sustainable Technology refers to the combination of two ideas: improving technology while considering environmental factors.

To improve or reduce the negative effects or harm of technology on the environment, some tools and devices are designed to improve the existing products of technology as well as reduce environmental danger.

Short Speech on Sustainable Technology

Today, I am going to talk about a very important topic — Sustainable Technology. This is a big word, but it has a very simple meaning. It means using science and technology in a way that does not harm the environment and saves resources for the future.

We all know that our Earth is facing big problems like pollution, global warming, and too much waste. Many factories and machines use fossil fuels like coal and petrol. These release harmful gases into the air. This is dangerous for our health and the planet. That’s why we need sustainable technology.

Sustainable technology helps us use clean and green energy. For example, solar panels use sunlight to make electricity. Wind turbines use wind to produce power. These do not pollute the air and never run out. They are called renewable energy sources.

There are many examples of sustainable technology around us. Electric cars are now becoming common. They run on batteries, not petrol, so they do not cause air pollution. LED bulbs save more electricity than normal bulbs. Even recycling machines that turn plastic waste into useful items are part of sustainable technology.

In schools and homes, we can also use simple sustainable methods. Turning off lights when not in use, using reusable water bottles, and planting more trees are small but powerful steps.

Did you know? According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), nearly 30% of global electricity came from renewable sources in 2024. The aim is to reach 50% by 2030.

Sustainable technology is also creating jobs. Green industries are growing fast. In India, the solar energy sector alone employed over 1 lakh people in 2024.

In conclusion, sustainable technology is not only good for the planet, but also for our future. We must support and use it in our daily lives. Let us all become Earth’s little heroes by using smart, clean, and green technology.

Thank you and have a great day!

Long Speech on Sustainable Technology

A very good morning to all of you.

Today, I feel proud to speak on the topic Sustainable Technology. This topic is very important in today’s world, where pollution, climate change, and waste are big problems.

So, what is sustainable technology?

Sustainable technology means using tools, machines, and science in a way that protects nature. It helps meet our needs today without harming the needs of people in the future. It saves energy, reduces pollution, and makes the Earth cleaner and safer.

Let me give you some real examples.

Solar panels are a great invention. They take energy from the Sun and give us electricity. It is clean and never-ending. India is one of the top countries using solar power. By the end of 2024, India had over 73 gigawatts of installed solar energy capacity.

Another great example is biodegradable plastic. This type of plastic breaks down quickly and does not pollute land and water like normal plastic. Some companies are now making packaging from sugarcane waste or corn starch!

Sustainable technology is also used in farming. Smart irrigation systems save water by giving it only where it is needed. Drones are used to check crops and reduce the use of harmful chemicals. This helps farmers and the environment.

Green buildings are another amazing example. These buildings use less water, save energy, and are made with eco-friendly materials. They also allow sunlight and fresh air to enter naturally. By 2025, India aims to build over 10,000 green buildings in cities.

Public transport is becoming more sustainable too. Electric buses and metro trains are being used in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. This helps reduce traffic pollution.

Let’s not forget about our oceans. There are new machines that clean plastic from the sea. In 2023, “The Ocean Cleanup” project removed over 200,000 kilograms of plastic waste from oceans.

Sustainable technology is not only good for nature, but also creates jobs and saves money. According to a report, the green energy sector in India may create over 1 million new jobs by 2030.

Now, what can we do as students?

We can switch off lights and fans when not in use. We can use bicycles or walk short distances. We can avoid plastic, recycle paper, and plant trees. These are all simple steps toward a sustainable life.

In conclusion, sustainable technology is the key to a better tomorrow. Let us support green ideas, spread awareness, and be a part of the solution. Together, we can protect our beautiful Earth.

Thank you and Jai Hind!
