Water flooded the ship, and the narrator and Sue got hurt. Even though the situation was very bad, everyone worked hard to remove the water, fix the ship, and find a way to safety. Jonathan’s brave words and Sue’s quiet strength gave them hope. After many days of hard work, they finally reached Île Amsterdam, a small island, and survived. - The narrator was a 37-year-old businessman who, along with his wife Mary, planned to sail around the world by following Captain Cook’s route.
