PU MET GD PI Process

PU MET GD and PI process are the final stages of this entrance test. It will be conducted in offline mode by the officials of Panjab University. The PU MET GD and PI process 2023 will be conducted in the month of June 2023. Candidates shortlisted after PU MET 2023 results will be the part of Group Discussion and Personal Interview process.

Selection Process

All the norms of the PU MET 2023 selection process are regulated by Panjab University. The PU MET 2023 selection process is divided into two stages; the PU MET entrance exam and the Counselling process.

  • Candidates who will qualify for the PU MET 2023 entrance exam will be called for the Counselling process.
  • The Counselling process will be further divided into three parts; Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Document Verification.

PU MET GD and PI Process

After the PU MET 2023 written exam is completed, candidates have to visit the website of the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) to know any updates about the selection process.

PU MET Group Discussion

Under the GD process, 10-15 candidates will be grouped together and they will be allotted a single topic on which they have to discuss for about 20-25 minutes. The GD process is conducted with the objective of

  • Testing the candidate’s general knowledge and mental ability.
  • After the discussion is complete, candidates have to give feedback to the instructor.
  • The instructor will then evaluate each candidate on their level pr participation in the Group Discussion.
  • This part will consist of a weightage of 7.5% of the entire selection process.

PU MET Personal Interview

After the GP process is over, all the candidates will be called for PI rounds. PI will consist of a panel of officials of Panjab University. The purpose of conducting the personal interview round is to

  • Test every candidate’s personality
  • The interview will be able to understand the candidate’s interests
  • What the candidate has planned for himself or herself
  • This part will consist of a weightage of 7.5% of the entire selection process.

Document Verification

While appearing for the PU MET GD PI process, all the candidates are required to carry a set of original documents. Here is a list of all the documents that candidates must carry while appearing for the GD-PI process.

  • Matriculation Certificate (10th)
  • Intermediate Certificate (10+2)
  • Professional Degree Certificate (if any)
  • Work Experience (if any)

What is the weightage of PU MET GD PI process?

The PU MET GD and PI process consist of a weightage of 15% out of the total 100. The GD process consists of 7.5% and the PI process consists of the remaining 7.5%.

What is the application fee for the PU MET 2023?

While filling out the application form for the PU MET, candidates will have to pay INR 2395 as an application fee. For candidates belonging to the reserved category, the application fee is INR 1198.

What is PU MET eligibility?

To become eligible for the PU MET exam
(1) Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
(2) For candidates belonging to other than the General category, the required aggregate score is 45%.
