The All India Law Entrance Test, or AILET, is a national-level law entrance test administered by NLU, Delhi. The AILET test is administered for admission to a five-year integrated BA.LLB, LLM, and PhD programmes. Candidates should be aware that NLU Delhi is the only national law university that will not accept the CLAT 2023 for undergraduate or postgraduate admission. CLAT 2023 results will be accepted by all 22 remaining NLUs.

AILET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023

The eligibility requirements for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2023 are defined by the National Law University (NLU) in Delhi. Candidates should acquaint themselves with the eligibility requirements before applying for the AILET 2023 exam. Candidates’ applications will be dismissed if they do not match the AILET eligibility requirements for 2023.

BA.LLB Programme

Candidates must have qualified for their senior secondary education (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with a 45 per cent passing mark (40 per cent for SC/ST/PwDs).

Candidates who will take the 12th standard qualification examination in 2023 are also eligible to apply for AILET. They will, however, be eligible for admission to the BA LLB programme only after passing the 12th grade with minimum qualifying marks.

LLM Programme

Candidates must have an LLB or an equivalent law degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/people with disabilities).

Candidates in their last year/semester of their LLB are also eligible to apply for AILET 2023. They will, however, be eligible for admission to the LLM programme only after completing their graduation with the required qualifying marks.

PhD Programme

Candidates who have obtained an LLM or an equivalent law degree with a 55 per cent average (50 per cent for SC/ST/PwDs).

AILET PG Application process 

The application form will be available on the official site in the month of September 2023. Candidates can refer to the steps below to know how to fill out the application form. 

  • Candidates must go to the NLU Delhi official website.
  • Click on ‘Register to Apply Now,’ then provide the following information to create a signup/login account:
    • E-mail 
    • Address 
    • Name
    • Password
    • Date of Birth
    • Phone Number
    • Date of Birth
  • Click on Confirm Registration, then sign in again to complete the application form.
  • Choose a law course, after selecting the course for which you wish to be enrolled, applicants must proceed to the next step by clicking on the “Apply Now” option.
  • After successfully creating the AILET login account, candidates may fill out the form to finish the NLU Delhi admissions application process.
  • Candidates then need to upload their photo and signature.
  • Candidates need to pay the application fee as the final step in the application process.
