According to Prithvia Raso written by Chand Bardai, there were in total four wives of Prithviraj Chauhan. His marriages are discussed in the book mostly because of his allying with the kingdoms and his political connections. The name of Prithviraj Chauhan’s wife is –  

  1. Ranima Ichchhini Panwar – She was the Paramara princess of Mount Abu. Paramaras were the feudatory of Chalukyas. She was also considered the queen consort of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.
  2. Maharani Shashivrata – She was the princess of Yadavas of Devgiri.
  3. Maharani Indravati – Another Prithviraj Chauhan wife was the daughter of the king of Ujjain. 
  4. Sanyogita, Samyukta or Sanjukta – One of Prithviraj Chauhan’s most famous wives was Samyukta, the daughter of Jaichand, the king of Kannauj. Their love story is the stuff of legends, with tales of their romance and defiance against societal norms. Samyukta’s beauty and intelligence captivated Prithviraj Chauhan, and their union was a symbol of love and loyalty amidst political intrigue. Their love story is legendary, with tales of Samyukta choosing Prithviraj over other suitors and eloping with him.

The love story of Prithviraj Chauhan and his wife is a tale of romance and tragedy, akin to the legendary stories of Laila-Majnu and Romeo-Juliet.
