What is the NCLEX Exam?

How to Register For The NCLEX Exam?
Now that you’ve decided to take the NCLEX, the following step is to register or apply for the exam. The steps for registering for the NCLEX, as well as some helpful hints, are as follows:
Step 1: Application to the Nursing Regulatory Board (NRB)
The first step in the registration procedure is to submit an application to the state board of nursing in the state where you want to practice nursing. Inquire with your state’s board of nursing about the specific registration process, as regulations may differ.
Step 2: Registration with Pearson VUE
Proceed, register, and pay the money to take the NCLEX with Pearson VUE once you have received confirmation from the board of nursing that you have completed all of their state requirements. Follow the registration instructions and fill out the forms as completely as possible.
Step 3: Authorisation to Test
Pearson VUE will send you an Authorisation to Test (ATT) document if the licensure board determines that you are eligible. You must test within the ATT’s validity dates (usually 90 days). There are no extensions available; otherwise, you will have to re-register and pay the price. The test authorisation number, validity date, and candidate identity number are all found on your ATT.
Step 4: Schedule your Exam Appointment
The next step is to schedule a Pearson VUE testing day, time, and location. The NCLEX will be administered at a testing centre; you can schedule an exam online or over the phone. You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment, including the date and time you selected, as well as instructions to the testing centre.
Step 5: On Exam Day
Attendees should arrive at the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time. You must have your active ATT account and an approved form of identification (such as a driver’s license, passport, etc.) that is current, contains your photo and signature, and is valid.
Step 6: Processing Results
After six weeks, the board of nursing will send you your official results.

NCLEX Exam Pattern
Pearson Professional Centre is where the NCLEX exam is given. The exam will be different for each participant. Because each question is dependent on the answer to the preceding one, a person can be asked anywhere between 75 and 265 questions. Only 60 of the first 75 questions on the exam will be counted, with the remaining 15 questions being saved for future testing. This exam is divided into three levels.

FAQs
Everyone must respond to a minimum of 75 and a maximum of 265 questions. You will be given 15 experimental questions that will not count for or against you, regardless of how many you answer. They are used by the exam administrators to test for future questions on the exam.
There is no time limit on any of the questions. The exam will take a maximum of 6 hours to complete, including a tutorial at the start. There are no breaks that must be taken. However, after 2 hours of testing, there is an optional break, and after 3.5 hours of testing, there is another optional break.
To be eligible for the NCLEX, you must graduate from an accredited nursing program (RN or PN). As a student nurse, you can apply once your school confirms your completion.
In India, the NCLEX exam fee is around USD 200 (INR 16,000–INR 17,000 approx.). You may also need to pay additional charges like application, international scheduling, and travel expenses.
