The University of Kassel was established in 1971, in Kassel, Hessen, in Central Germany. It provided first and second-level degree programs and had a strong focus on application and practice, characteristics now established throughout Europe. University of Kassel is ranked 701 in Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

As of February 2022, The University of Kassel had about 25,000 students and about 3300 staff, including more than 300 professors. The Main Campus of the University of Kassel is Located in the city of Kassel, Hessen, in Central Germany. The University offers courses in Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Planning, International Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

Since its establishment in 1971, the University of Kassel has had a long road of History and Accomplishments. It has been repeatedly awarded for its teaching and academics. The region's economic revival of the last two decades has been widely attributed to the University and its encouragement of entrepreneurship. Germany's leading weekly paper Die Zeit called it a role model for universities nationwide. Many Notable alumni like Günther Cramer (Entrepreneur, SMA Technologie), Thomas Stellmach (Filmmaker and winner of the Academy Award for the animated motion picture Quest), and Klaus Stern (Filmmaker and winner of the Adolf-Grimme-Preis for Weltmarktführer (2004), a documentary) have graduated through the University of Kassel.

Over 12% of the Student Body of University of Kassel comprises International Students. More than 3,000 students from over 115 countries attend the University every year. It is from a total of more than 25,000 students. It publishes the Q.S. World University Rankings every year. The Q.S. rating, which is considered one of the three most widely read university rankings globally, is approved by the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG). The institution uses six metrics, namely Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citations per faculty, International Faculty Ratio and International Student Ratio, that effectively capture university performance.
