History, Affiliations and Rankings

The University of East London was founded in 1892 by the newly established County Borough of West Ham in the UK, which chose to establish a West Ham Technical Institute to serve the local population. The North East London Polytechnic was founded in 1970 when three distinct colleges (West Ham, Walthamstow, and Dagenham) merged to become the North East London Polytechnic. It was renamed the Polytechnic of East London in 1989 when the North East London Polytechnic became a higher education school in 1988. The Polytechnic of East London has officially renamed the University of East London in 1992. Since 1898, the University of East London has been pioneering futures, from the Second Industrial Revolution to the fourth, which the world is presently experiencing. UEL is a career-focused institution committed to helping students acquire the skills, emotional intelligence, and creativity they need to succeed in today's fast-paced world. The university is also affiliated with international organisations like MillionPlus, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Universities UK and European University Association. The university has an overall ranking of #801-100 in the QS World University Rankings 2022 and THE World University Rankings 2022 respectively. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

UEL is in the center of this industrial and creative transformation that makes up a great global gateway, with campuses in Stratford and the historic Royal Albert Dock. The university's Docklands campus and housing are located in a lovely, lively area directly next to the river, with the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) right outside the door (and free UEL buses running to Stratford). Furthermore, students live in beautiful surroundings and are never far from the activity and prospects for work experience in downtown London. The well-known Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which includes a tennis court, hockey grounds, and a swimming pool, is located on the Stratford campus. The College of Arts, Technology and Innovation, the College of Applied Health and Communities, and the College of Professional Services make up the University of East London. The university is renowned worldwide for its plethora of courses in a variety of disciplines like Architecture and the Visual Arts, Civil Engineering, Cultural and Media Studies, Education, Psychology, and Sports Science.
