UOP or the University of the Pacific, previously known as the College of the Pacific and California Wesleyan College, is a private Methodist university established in 1851. The university was the very first medical school as well as the first conservatory of music on the West Coast. The university is also recognized by the WASC. Since 2018, QS (Top Universities) has continuously ranked UTP among the top 801-1000 universities in the world. UTP's position within the US universities, US News & World Report has ranked UTP at 133rd rank for 2021. When it comes to course rankings, the University of the Pacific (UTP) is ranked 235th in the UG Business category by US News & World Report for 2021. In its UG Business rating, US News ranks UTP at 274th place for 2019 and 224th place for 2020.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

The university's campuses are located in the California cities of San Francisco, Stockton, and Sacramento. Their campuses provide students with the many alternatives available in each area. Through their numerous curriculum offerings throughout all four campuses, students may connect to California and the country's ecosystem of social, cultural, and economic advancement. It has its own liberal arts college, graduate school, medical school, pharmacy school, law school, music school, international studies, engineering, education, dentistry, and business school. The university built a Biological Sciences Center to provide advanced laboratory and classroom facilities for health and natural sciences students. Over 30 professional and graduate programmes, 80 undergraduate courses, 12 accelerated programmes, and 11 schools and colleges are available at the University of the Pacific. As a comprehensive educational institution, the university provides student-centred programmes that generate deserving and exceptional graduates who contribute positively to society

Accomplishments and Alumni 

The University of Pacific has a long list of accomplishments, including #8 – Campus Building Sustainability (Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, 2019). Arif Alvi, MS 1984, Pakistan's 13th President (2018–present). Scott Boras is an American sports agent who specialises in baseball. He received his PharmD in 1977 and his JD in 1982. Dave Brubeck, a jazz pianist and composer, was born in 1942. Connie Callahan, a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was born in 1974. Pete Carroll, BS 1973, is the current head coach of the Seattle Seahawks and was previously the head coach of the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and USC Trojans. Tom Flores, an NFL Super Bowl-winning coach and player, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1958. These are some of the notable alumni of the university.
