Founded in 1891, Seattle University is a Jesuit Catholic University located in the vibrant heart of Seattle, Washington, USA. It is the largest autonomous institution in the Northwest United States. Immaculate Conception Parish School was the previous name of the university. The institution established a night school for women in 1931. In 1993, a law school was established on the campus. A fitness centre, an art centre, and a library were all added to the University of Seattle in 2009. The governing board, which includes the board of trustees, cabinet members, deans, and the advisory board, is in charge of the institution. The University of Seattle is accredited by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. If we look at the Seattle University world ranking, the university has been ranked by QS World University Rankings 2022 between #801-1000. As per the Shangai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2021, the University of Seattle has been ranked between #201-300 in Law

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses 

The University of Seattle covers an area of 50 acres and has a beautiful campus. Its diverse and motivated population includes more than 7,200 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at eight schools and colleges. The campus has pesticide-free sites, recycling facilities, food waste composting facilities, and energy-saving programs. Seattle University's library has more than 2,00,000 books, journals and research papers. The campus is close to many restaurants and cafes. Stationery stores, grocery stores, and medicine stores are also located near the campus. The local public transportation is easy to reach from the University of Seattle.

Seattle University has become one of the leading national universities for its academic, student-centred teaching, service learning, and sustainability leadership. Seattle University's world ranking is among the top 16% of American universities in the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2021 and ranks 121st among 797 institutions. The school ranks 23rd among universities in the western region. The University of Seattle ranks among the top in U.S. News and World Report's 2021 'Best National University' and 'Best Value' category. The university rose 15 places to 124th among nearly 400 universities in the best national university category. Seattle University rose 5 places to 80th in the publication’s best value category. The university has a list of alumni that includes Gary Brinson (Founder of Brison Partners), Carol Nelson (CEO at Cascade Bank), Frank Murkowski (Former Governor of Alaska), Anne Bremner (Television Legal Analyst). 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies  

Over 7,700 students attend Seattle University. The undergraduate programme has about 4,600 students, and the postgraduate department has over 3,100 students. The International Student Center (ISC) at SU is dedicated to assisting approximately 850 international students from 64 countries throughout the world by collaborating closely with campus partnerships. Seattle University's student-faculty ratio is 11:1, and 62.2% of classrooms have fewer than 20 students, demonstrating that each student receives personal attention in order to grow and prosper.
