Founded in 1891, Seattle University is a Jesuit Catholic University located in the vibrant heart of Seattle, Washington, USA. It is the largest autonomous institution in the Northwest United States. Immaculate Conception Parish School was the previous name of the university. The institution established a night school for women in 1931. In 1993, a law school was established on the campus. A fitness centre, an art centre, and a library were all added to the University of Seattle in 2009. The governing board, which includes the board of trustees, cabinet members, deans, and the advisory board, is in charge of the institution. The University of Seattle is accredited by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
