Q: What proof of German language knowledge should I need to give?

Applicants holding foreign certificates must have proof of having passed the German language test. Esslingen University accepts the certificates: DSH-Prüfung at level 2 or 3, TestDaf Examination (applicants must hold least level 4 in all four subtests), Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz and Language test telc C1 Hochschule.

About the University

History, Affiliations and Rankings

Esslingen University of Applied Sciences was established in 1868 in Esslingen am Neckar, Germany. It is also known as Hochschule Esslingen. The university was started as the School of Mechanical Engineering at the Royal School of Construction in Stuttgart to provide the best engineering practices to all students. Soon, the demand for this program increased and the school decided to shift its campus from Stuttgart to Esslingen in 1914. It was only in 1971, the state of Esslingen decided to rename the university to the Esslingen Technical University of Applied Sciences in 1975. In 2006, two Esslingen universities, two Esslingen, Hochschule für Technik (FHTE) University of Applied Sciences and Hochschule für Sozialwesen (HfS), University of Technology and Social Work merged together to become a single entity, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, or Hochschule Esslingen.
