Campbellsville University traces its roots back to Russell Creek Academy, founded in 1906 by the Russell Creek Baptist Association. As the academy developed its four-year curriculum and offerings, it became accredited as a college. As an accredited institution by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Campbellsville University offers diplomas, certificates, associate's, bachelor's, master's, specialist, and doctorate degrees. The Music Program at Campbellsville is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), an association of music schools. A Teaching Program at the University of Southern California is approved by the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) for teacher education and certification and is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). There is an accreditation agency for business programs called the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). Campbellsville University is ranked 98 in Regional Universities South in the 2022 edition of Best Colleges. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Campbellsville, Kentucky's largest city, is about half a mile from the campus. The Campbellsville University off-site centre has been in operation since 2002. Founded in Jeffersontown in 2007, it moved to its present location in August 2007. There is also a satellite campus in Hodgenville that is part of Campbellsville University. In addition to adult education, the branch centre offers general education courses and programs for children. CU received the building in Hodgenville as a gift from Freddie Hilpp. Campbellsville University Harrodsburg is becoming a full-fledged campus, not just a satellite campus. Students and faculty are living on campus and there are sports teams. Campbellsville University holds accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. It awards certificates, associate and baccalaureate degrees, as well as masters and doctorate degrees.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

Campbellsville University is one of America's Best Christian Colleges and is ranked among the top colleges in Kentucky and southern states in accredited national university rankings such as U.S. News & World Report. In addition to being a military-friendly school, Campbellsville University is an NAIA Champions of Character institution and was recognized on the President's Higher Education Honour Roll for community service. 1st in Top Online Master of Social Work Degrees  (CollegeValuesOnline.com), 2nd in Top 50 Christian College Athletics Programs (TheologyDegrees.org)3rd Most Affordable Online Master’s in Sociology Degrees 2017 (GradSchoolHub.com), and Top 5 Most Affordable Online Bachelor’s Degrees in Social Work  (BestCollegeValue.com) Some of the alumni are Sandra Blanton, Nancy Cox, Phil Cunningham, Vernie McGaha, Simon Van Booy, and Randy Wayne.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

Though the university is a Christian university, the university promotes student diversity and encourages gender equality on campus. The University has students from a wide range of backgrounds, including race, national origin, religion, beliefs, age, socioeconomic level, gender, sexual orientation, and handicap status. University's vibrant and diverse campus offers several opportunities for students to engage with their peers.  There are over 10,000 students representing 35 States and over 50 countries. Students are known as "Tigers" on campus. There are over 30+ student groups on campus for the students to get involved in. Pre-professional, academic major, and honors groups are examples of organizations. Groups that come together to support one another, pursue shared passions, or have similar interests are known as registered peer groups.  Further, the University offers career development and counseling services that help students to practice and prepare for employment.
