GMAT scores are one of the primary requirements for getting admission into the University of British Columbia’s MBA and MBAN (MBA Business Analytics) programmes.  Individuals looking forward to pursuing an MBA from the stated institution must meet the following GMAT scoring criteria. 

Average GMAT Scores GMAT Score of 550 with a minimum percentile rank of 50 in the Quantitative and Verbal Sections. 
OR 
GMAT Focus Edition Score of 515 with a minimum percentile rank of 50 in the Verbal, Quantitative and Data Analytics sections. 
GMAT Scores for a Competitive Edge GMAT score of 650 or above in verbal and quantitative sections (combined). 
OR 
GMAT Focus Edition score of 605 or above in Verbal. Quantitative and Data Insight sections (combined).  

GMAT Score Validity Period for MBA at UBC

Individuals who wish to apply for admission to UBC’s MBA course must ensure that their GMAT scores are valid. GMAT scores remain valid for five years after they are sent to the students.  The official test scores for the most recent UBC MBA entrance intake must be valid and verifiable by July 31, 2024. 

GMAT Waiver Eligibility for UBC’s MBA Course

International applicants (non-Canadian and UK residents) can register for the GMAT waivers till  January 9, 2024. GMAT waiver applications must be submitted along with the necessary documents, namely the Statement of Qualification,  unofficial transcripts, degree certificates, and an English test score that meets the admission requirements.   1. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum academic average of  B+. 
  2. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum academic average of A-. They must have a work experience of at least 3 years.

How to Apply for GMAT Waiver? 

Interested candidates must submit a ‘Statement of Qualification’ to apply for a GMAT Waiver at the University of British Columbia. The Statement of Qualification must:

  1. Include your work experience and academic courses. 
  2.  Be comprehensive and well articulated. Your Statement of Qualification must be comprehensible and easy for authorities to evaluate your candidature with easy. 
  3. Statements of qualifications that do not specify academic qualifications or work experience can be rejected by authorities. Such candidatures can be put on hold by authorities as they do not clarify how the candidate is able to meet the requirements of the GMAT/GRE waiver policy. 
  4. The Statement of Qualification must be in ‘WORD or PDF format and must be uploaded along with the application. 

Students who are not granted GMAT waivers will be required to take a GMAT test or submit their valid GMAT scores for their application to move forward.
