Following China’s policy that originated in the 1970s, families worldwide should only have one child per couple to prevent overpopulation

Q- Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Following China’s policy that originated in the 1970s, families worldwide should only have one child per couple to prevent overpopulation. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. Do not use memorized examples.

Ans: I think there’s an imminent need for the world to undertake and adhere to the ‘One Child Policy’ implemented by China during the 1970s to curb the unprecedented increment in its populace. Governments should strictly follow such a policy to ensure their nation’s resources are not further depleted on such a massive scale.

Having said that, overpopulation has been one of the key contributing factors impeding every country’s overall growth and development.  In most countries the professional domains have been oversaturated with people looking for lucrative work opportunities, resulting in numerous rejections and, ultimately, an increase in unemployment among youth. Simply put, there are too many applicants for employers to choose from for limited job openings. This is why it is critical for governments around the world to embrace and implement China’s policy of parenting a single child to avert overpopulation.

Furthermore, one of the primary reasons overpopulation must be curbed and controlled is the unrelenting depletion of the earth’s resources. If the global population continues to expand at its current rate, there will undoubtedly come a time when Earth will be nothing more than a barren wasteland with no resources to offer. Overpopulation will undoubtedly drive the Earth to its ecological breaking point if it is not monitored and controlled. Population growth has undoubtedly resulted in greater deforestation, decreased biodiversity, increased pollution, and the release of harmful greenhouse gases into the environment, resulting in temperature rises and global warming around the world. Aside from that, resource depletion caused by overpopulation might lead to inevitable conflict between nations, where they will be engaged in a tug-of-war, with each nation battling its way to retain and acquire as many resources as it can. This will eventually lead to pointless violence and disputes between governments all across the world.

To conclude, the only way to preserve our planet from impending doom is to reduce overcrowding, and one of the most efficient ways to do so is to limit each household to having only one kid.
