Harvard College is an undergraduate college at Harvard University. It has recently made changes to its application form making it more comprehensive and specific to life experiences. This was done to streamline the admission requirements with the new guidelines for high school seniors applying for college admissions.

Hence, students filling out the application form will now have to answer 5 different yet mandatory questions. These questions will be based on their experiences, intellectual interests, achievements and extracurricular activities. Therefore, the university has let go of the Harvard Supplement long essay and introduced these short questions.

Additionally, one has to answer these questions within 200 words each. Furthermore, despite racial identity is not a judging factor, students and universities are allowed to discuss and consider how their race affected or influenced these experiences in their life.

What’s Harvard’s Stand?

Harvard allegedly denied completely ruling out race-based admissions in its colleges. Besides, the university believes that it is a way to maintain diversity in the classrooms and on campus. The institution has agreed to maintain such guidelines but is also affirmative of enrolling diverse student bodies.

At first, as students opened the admission forms this month, confusion started to set in. The pattern had changed and they had no idea as to what they can include in their answers. Harvard College urges such students to discuss their achievements, experiences, interests and how they can add to the culture of the college and university openly, while also inculcating how their race has contributed to these factors.

Harvard University has taken great pride in its admission policies and has also defended its diverse student community over the decades by protecting these policies. Harvard University has pledged to identify and implement ways to maintain the same for the next generations.
