The University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarship applications are set to open for the academic year 2024-25. Under this, only a limited number of scholarships are available to Master’s Applicants Moreover, the scholarship is extremely competitive. Hence, applicants with exceptional academic performance and potential are only taken into consideration. The  Chancellor’s International Scholarship benefit is an amount of £5,000 as tuition fee reduction. Students with exceptional grades to date can apply. The application opens in April and the last date to apply is on 1 May 2024.

Chancellor’s International Scholarship Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarship is as follows:

  • Must be classified as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes
  • Additionally, the applicant must be enrolling in a full-time Masters’s degree, starting September 2024
  • The applicant must also be self-funding and must have exceptional academic grades. For example, Indian students must have scored a minimum of 70% (depending on the university)
  • However, students enrolling in an online course, or applying to any other university are not eligible for the scholarship
  • Similarly, students already holding another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e Chancellors Masters Scholarship) are ineligible.
  • Applicants progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex or studying any of the excluded courses are also not eligible

Chancellor’s International Scholarship Excluded Courses 

The following are the excluded courses from the Chancellor’s International Scholarship. 

  • Courses at IDS
  • Online courses
  • Schools direct teaching courses
  • Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
  • Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
  • Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
  • Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
  • Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding)

Note: The Chancellor’s International Scholarship 2024 cannot cannot be combined with other Sussex-funded scholarships. The applicants are selected on the basis of ther academic record.
