The University of Sussex is a public research university that received its royal charter in the year 1959. University of Sussex is known to be one of the first United Kingdom universities which earned its Royal Charter in the year 1961. The campus, which is set in rolling parkland on the outskirts of Brighton, mixes award-winning architecture with green open spaces. The buildings that make up the heart of the campus, designed by Sir Basil Spence, were designated as listed buildings in 1993. Furthermore, Falmer House is one of only two educational buildings in the United Kingdom to be Grade I-listed for its outstanding interest. It has a huge campus which is surrounded by South downs national park. It has diversity in students, staff. The campus is filled with every amenity from cafes to post offices, supermarkets, banks & health care facilities. The University of Sussex also provides a chance to students to study abroad/ internship abroad for a year. There are nine on-campus accommodation buildings and one off-campus.
