Study in UK: Applications Open for University of Sheffield International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

The University of Sheffield offers 75 international undergraduate merit scholarships for 2024. The scholarship benefit is an amount of £10,000 towards tuition fees. Students enrolling in an undergraduate program starting in Autumn 2024 are eligible for the award. The scholarship would be continuous (2nd and 3rd year), provided the student meets the academic requirements of the university. The deadline for the scholarship is on Monday 22 April 2024 (1 PM UK time). The university will announce the beneficiaries on 15 May 2024. Those who received the scholarship must confirm their acceptance by a specified date.

International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

The  University of Sheffield International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024 eligibility requirements are as follows: 

• The international student must have received an offer letter from the university to study an undergraduate program starting in August 2024.
• Moreover, the applicant must be self-funding the education and must be eligible to pay overseas tuition fees. It means the sponsored students are not eligible.
• The student must enter a degree program at the university either in year 1 or year 2 
• All undergraduate degree programs except for Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200) courses are not eligible for the award.
• Similarly, students enrolling in the MArch programs are not eligible for the scholarship 

International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship Selection Process 

The International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024 selection process is as follows: Note: this is a competitive scholarship. Hence, all applicants will not be successful. A panel of senior staff members will select the beneficiaries.

• Proof of academic excellence and initiative taken in voluntary, educational, and extracurricular activities
•  Demonstrate these achievements relating to the course they have chosen, and connect the same to their future goals 
• Additionally, the applicant must demonstrate a strong academic record

The applicant cannot combine the University of Sheffield International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship with other awards. For example, the International Baccalaureate Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024, and the NCUK Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024. Furthermore, each person can only receive one award.
