Study in Canada: Ontario Tech University International  Entrance Scholarships for 2024 

Ontario Tech University offers several scholarships to students. These scholarships are given as tuition fee discounts. The scholarship values are subject to change. International students attending the university from secondary school within 18 months of graduation are eligible. However, you must not have previously enrolled in a post-secondary institution. You must also meet all eligibility requirements of the specific scholarship. The scholarship value depends on the scholarship type. The continuation of the scholarship depends on whether the student has maintained acceptable academic progress and on the available funds. It is important to note that not all scholarships require you to apply. Most of the scholarships are given automatically to students.

International Merit Awards 

International Merit Awards are available to international students enrolling in an undergraduate program on a study permit. Students with an 80% or higher GPA at admission (September 2024) receive the scholarship.The scholarship benefit is CAD 20,000 over 4 years. However, if your residency status later on changes to domestic you will not be eligible for the award.

English Language Centre (ELC) Scholarship

The English Language Centre (ELC) offers scholarships to students who have completed the ELC prorgam of study. You must be entering an undergraduate prorgam at the university on a study permit. The scholarship provides an amount of CAD 1,000, given during the first year of an undergraduate program. This is a one-time scholarship. Therefore, it is not renewable. Moreover, the award is not available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Awards of Recognition

The Awards of Recognition are given to recognise the academic achievements of the recent Canadian secondary school graduates. The scholarship is available to international students who have studied in an on-shore secondary school in Canada. The scholarship value depends on the best six 4U/4M courses (or equivalent). For example, those who have secured 95 per cent or higher will receive CAD 4,000. On the other hand, those who have secured 85 to 89.9 per cent will receive CAD 1,000. Similarly, 90 to 94.9 per cent would mean a scholarship amount of CAD 2,000.
