Study in Australia: AIESC Holds Its First Meeting to Discuss Research Collaborations Today!

Australia India Education and Skill Council (AIESC) council meeting to discuss various agendas on educational collaborations starts today. Moreover, this will be a two-day event taking place at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar. Officials from India and Australia have started discussions on the agenda.

The honourable chairs of the meeting are Dharmendra Pradhan, Jason Clare and Brendan O’Connor. Mr Dharmendra Pradhan is the Indian Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, Ms Jason Claire is the Australian Minister for Education and Brendon O’Connor is the Minister for Skills and Training.

Agenda of the AIESC Meeting

The exciting part is that the chair will be visiting university campuses to see the scope of educational collaboration. Also, The second day of the meeting will be focussed on topics related to research. 

The aim is to create a research-oriented ecosystem for the students to approach innovative opportunities. Nevertheless, this can only happen with the deepening of bilateral research collaborations between India and Australia. Such an ecosystem will be created with the help of industry partnerships, as well as sharing research workforce and strategies. 

The ultimate agenda of this two-day council meeting is to make educational experiences better for students and incorporate skill development and research into their curriculum.

AIESC History

In 2011, AIESC was first founded under the name of the Australian India Education Council (AIEC). It is a bi-national organisation that involves discussions and deliberations on matters of education, training, and research partnerships between India and Australia. 

The educational agenda of both countries has collided over time to keep the educational reforms running. The prioritisation of skill and the mobility of more and more Indian students for an Australian educational experience has fueled the agenda.
