Study Abroad: THE WUR Rankings 2024 Released on 27 September 2023

Times has released its latest edition of World University Rankings 2024. It is the 20th Times Higher Education for the best universities in the world. These rankings are declared using the data submitted by various universities over a period of time. 

This year Times has ranked 1,904 institutions from 108 territories. Furthermore, 769 universities are listed as reporters with their respective scores. The new WUR 3.0 methodology to assess universities based on 5 main pillars and 18 factors is a robust and competitive way of ranking universities. 

Top Rankings

Among the top 200 institutions, most are chiefly from the following countries. 56 are from the USA, and 25 are from the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Germany is in the third position with 21 ranking universities. China, Australia, Netherlands as well as Canada follow the list with 13, 11, 11 and 8 institutions in the top 200. Among the top 10 universities, Oxford University has once again secured the golden crown. 

Hence, it is for the 8th consecutive time that Oxford University has secured #1 position. Harvard University has however slipped to the #4th position and is replaced by Stanford University in the #2 position. MIT has climbed the ladder to the #3 position from its former ranking at #5 whereas, the University of Cambridge has the #5 position.
