Study Abroad: R2I Entrepreneurship Training Programme by Manchester University is Now Open!

The University of Manchester has recently opened applications for its Research to Innovation (R2I) program. It is a dedicated entrepreneurship training program for all final-year PhD students, PDRAs as well as early-career researchers.

The idea is to gather all researchers who want to make their academic research impactful or commercialise it for the world. Also, the deadline to submit all forms for the same is the 30th of October 2023. Furthermore, researchers can participate individually or in groups. 

The main attractions of the program are personal and professional development sessions. It also covers the aspect of commercialisation, introducing strategies to the researchers and helping them develop ways to take their research forward. The scaling of the project also involves funding procedures.

How Would the Participants Benefit?

All the participants will benefit in multiple ways from the program. They will not only develop innovative skills with research but also learn to commercialise or communalise their research by marketing. Taking the Research Further

After the conference is over a selection panel will shortlist participants who are ready to on to the next stage of training. Moreover, the selection will be announced on the 6th of November 2023. The selected teams or individuals will basically gain detailed knowledge on the subject with the industry experts leading major research today.

History of R21

This event is coordinated by the University of Manchester’s Innovation Academy. This program was launched in October 2021. This was introduced by Professor Martin Schroeder, Vice-President and Dean, of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the university. The purpose of introducing such a program was to convert academic research ideas into viable products or services.
